John will continue to establish long lasting effective relationships with constituents, elected officials (state, county, local & municipal), community leaders, civic leaders and agency representatives throughout Legislative District 25 as well as the State of Maryland to ensure all citizens experience the best quality of life possible while serving as an elected on the Prince George’s County Democratic Central Committee (DCC) Member!
He is making sure citizens throughout District 25 are well aware of who their DCC Members are and creating partnerships that provide constituents with the opportunity to become engaged, provide feedback and input with opportunities to host voter registration drives, raise funds as well as organize events that will be in the best interest of all Prince Georgians!
John E. Richardson became very engaged in his community when two brothers were shot not far from where he lives and one died. He is the founder and coordinator of a neighborhood watch in his community! As a member of the Prince George’s County Police District 3 Citizen Advisory Council, John contributes to the ongoing reduction in crime by collaborating with his fellow members, police commander and COPS Officers to create strategies and solutions. He is Chairman of the Maryland State Highway Association (SHA) Community Task Force’s MD4 Pedestrian Safety Enhancement Project which is a $24 Million Dollar project on Pennsylvania Avenue from Silver Hill Road to Forestville Road. John is a Certified Voter Registration Volunteer for the Prince George’s County Board of Elections and registered several hundred youth as well as adults to vote.
He holds a Masters of Education Degree from National Louis University, Bachelors and Associates Degrees in Printing from the University of The District of Columbia. John served as a Constituent Service Liaison for Legislative District 25 while working for Senator Ulysses Currie from 2012-2015 and Permits Specialist as well as Snow Route Inspector for Department of Public Works & Transportation from 2015-2017.
On April 27, 2019, John was officially Sworn-In as the newly installed President of the Coalition of Central Prince George’s County Community Organizations. He is the successor of Rev. Dr. Douglas Edwards who is the Founder of Mission of Love Charities.
The Coalition of Central Prince George’s County Community Organizations is a nonprofit Districts501(c) (4) advocacy organization representing the interests of citizens in the county’s Councilmanic Districts 5, 6 and 7, and in Maryland Legislative Districts 24, 25, and 47 (Prince George’s County).
The Coalition’s goal is to unify the civic, homeowner and community groups located within these districts to inform, educate and influence public policy that preserves and strengthens our communities and benefit all county residents. I look forward to your response!
